Guide to CPHFW AW23 Hair Looks

ZENZ is the official Hair Partner for CPHFW NEWTALENT and our creative team of hairdressers styled the hair backstage during Fashion Week for A. Roege Hove and Latimmier. Read about the designers and get  ZENZ' Key Hair Stylist, Sidsel Lysell Riisberg's guide to, how the different looks were created backstage.

A. ROEGE HOVE

A. Roege Hove is a conceptual knitwear brand that challenges tradition with a modern and artistic approach to original craftsmanship and a goal that silhouettes should be both effortless and extravagant. The unique designs are created by the founder Amalie Røge Hove. The designer wanted diversity in her model cast and this should also be seen in the hair. It was important to find the perfect balance between a uniform and 'done' look and still preserve and highlight the different hair textures of all the models. The overall look had references to the 80s with volume on top and slightly angular sides.

THE 80'S BLOWDRY LOOK

Sidsel Lysell Riisberg, ZENZ Key Hair Stylist, explains: “For this look, we created an 80s inspired blowdry look with angular sides and volume on top. We started by making the hair a bit wet and added a pump of Hair Styling Mousse Sweet Orange no. 91 and Styling Gel Sweet Orange no. 12 to the sides. Then we divided the hair into sections, where we sprayed each section with Volume Hair Spray Pure no. 86 and then blow dry the sections with a round brush. Finally, we used Volume Hair Powder Pure no. 89 to create texture and volume and finished the look with Finishing Hair Spray Pure no. 88.

LATIMMIER

Latimmier is a new ready-to-wear brand by the Finnish fashion talent Ervin Latimer. Latimmier's collections are designed for anyone who wants to express masculinity through their clothes. The brand aims to expand the concept of masculinity by challenging who can express masculinity and what kind of clothes can be used to do so. The designer is very good at typecasting models, as he wants them to be a character themselves, which he can build his looks around. He wants to create a very personal look and always has a lot of creative ideas, for example letting the visible seams from the clothes to be a detail in the hair looks.

THE TEXTURE LOOK

Sidsel Lysell Riisberg, ZENZ Key Hair Stylist, explains: "For a few of the models, we created a look where the volume was pulled out to make room for the angularity and for the texture at the ends. We started by making the hair a bit wet and then added a combination of Hair Styling Mousse Sweet Orange no. 91 and Styling Gel Sweet Orange no. 12. Then we let the hair air dry to bring out the natural texture.

Sidsel Lysell Riisberg, ZENZ Key Hair Stylist, explains: “For the models with longer hair, lots of moisture was needed. We therefore made a conditioner spray with a mixture of water and Conditioner Pure no. 02. This mixture was sprayed into the hair followed by a little Styling Gel Sweet Orange no. 12 in the ends."

On one of the models, I fixed his hair on one side by applying Finishing Hair Spray Pure no. 88 and heated it up with a hair dryer, section by section. When the hair was in slace, I could sew white yarn into his hair." says Sidsel.

THE BLUE STICHING LOOK

"One of the models had to walk with a blue piece of art on the catwalk. We used the blue yarn from the art piece on the model. The shapes are inspired by the Finnish artist Sasha Huber." says Sidsel.
